I also was with the 25th in '69-'70. 3rd Sqdn, 4th Cav. Hq & Hq Troop.
Spent many days at FB Hampton and the behind the Green Door and buddies in the
Navy there. Were you there when the underwater sappers blew up the galley? You
pictures bring back a flood of memories. My photos were destroyed during the
Cambodian invasion in 70. Peace Brother.

This is obviously not my true name. Am still goosey about Nam and other HUMINT.
Real good job. I was also with 25th DIVARTY, Tet I, one medevac, and years of
medical treatment. Accurate facts. The press and Clinton are doing the same as
in the 60s, but not on as great a scale. It is more sneaky and perhaps more
dangerous to the country.

I really enjoyed the read. Brought back a lot of memories of my time at Udorn
Thailand. We only had very sporadic enemy activity though. I spend my time in a
radar van also. A monopulse autotracking unit directing arclight and tac
(skyspot) missions in Laos and North Vietnam. I hated going up on that tower at
night to change a magnetron. Sure felt like a big old bullseye! Ate C rations
while on night duty because we were out on the wire by the tower. Crazy
shchedule too. 2 nights, four days, 2 days off, four nights, 2 days, four days
off. I finally got used to occassionally waking up with lizards (gekos) on my
face. Could have been worse. Back to your page. Your writing is excellent. The
work you put in on the text really shows. Ex technical writer, marketing
material and proposal writer.

I served as a platoon leader with A Troop 3/4 Cav at Cu Chi from March to July,
1967. I still get letters occasionally from our Forward Observer that was
attached to our Troop. I was transferred to D Troop, 199th Infantry. Brigade in
July. Your comments about the Vietnam War are right on point. Sounds like you
made a great transition to the civilian world.

I just loved your story about Vietnam. I read it over and over. Each time it
makes me cry and remember the men that died. You really do have a nice page
here. ~Sgt. Jon M Ballou
